Specialist tuition for grammar-school and independent-school entry combines reasoning skills, subject knowledge and the strategic habits needed to tackle demanding assessments.

The full 11+ course starts in early October of Year 5 and runs over three terms. Reviewing home study, teaching strategies and supervised practice give pupils regular opportunities to apply what they learn.

Summer workshops and a mock examination help pupils prepare for the experience of sitting an exam as well as its content.

A strong foundation starts with understanding the learner.

In Years 1–4, tuition focuses on literacy, numeracy and carefully identifying gaps in a child’s developing academic skills. Teaching draws on a range of methods, including Bond Assessment, Montessori approaches and drama.

Effort matters alongside attainment. Children are encouraged to become more independent while receiving the nurture and support they need. In Years 5–6, tuition also develops the habits needed for the transition to secondary school.

Stronger understanding. More purposeful study.

Support in English, mathematics and science helps pupils consolidate their knowledge and develop independent learning skills through Key Stages 3–4.

Robert’s specialist work includes GCSE English Language and Literature. Alongside subject learning, tuition develops examination technique, accuracy, time management and approaches to revision.
