Small groups, individual attention.
Standard groups at the centre have 4–8 students. Smaller groups and one-to-one tuition are available by arrangement. Tuition is offered in a minimum of four sessions. See the full terms and fee schedule.
The 11+ learning journey
Prepared, one term
at a time.
The full course starts in early October of Year 5. Practice builds steadily towards the examinations.

Parents purchase their own Bond or other publishers’ resources. Photocopies and digital copies cannot be used for these materials. Please check the required titles with the centre before buying.
Summer workshops & home study
Three 11+ tutorial workshops are offered during the summer holidays, taught in pairs: two students to one tutor. Students are encouraged to attend two where possible.
There are no weekly tuition-centre sessions in August. Students are asked to complete 2–3 papers each week during the holidays to maintain practice.
A rehearsal for the real exam
The mock 11+ takes place on the first Saturday back in the autumn term and is invigilated and assessed by four trained teachers.
It gives pupils experience of working in examination conditions and provides useful feedback before the real examinations. Contact us for workshop and mock-exam availability and dates.

The Tutorial Centre follows Nottinghamshire local authority term dates, including tuition on the inset day at the start of September. There are no inset days at the centre.
School holidays in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire may differ. Please also check your invoice and centre updates for any specific arrangements.

Pupils receive feedback directly, and assessment scores are shared with parents each term. Robert offers telephone parent discussions twice a year. For more detailed feedback between these points, mornings are generally the best time to call.
In May, Year 5 pupils receive a progress assessment to help parents understand their readiness for the 11+ and the areas needing attention.

How long is a tutorial?
A standard session at the centre lasts 45 minutes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Will my child have home study?
Yes. Home study is an important part of consolidating learning. Please contact us if your child is struggling with an assignment so that we can help.
What if my child is unwell or needs to miss a session?
Please contact the centre as early as possible. At least 24 hours’ notice is requested to rearrange a session, normally within the same week. The terms and illness policy explain the full arrangements.
Does an 11+ pass guarantee a school place?
Tuition cannot guarantee an examination result or a school place. Admissions depend on each school’s criteria and the relevant year’s arrangements. Check the school’s current admissions information directly.
